Investment Advisor, Lawyer, Economist, and Bestselling Author

James Rickards is the editor of the financial newsletter Strategic Intelligence and the author of several New York Times bestsellers, including Sold Out, The New Great Depression, The Death of Money, and Currency Wars. He has held senior positions at Citibank, Long-Term Capital Management, and Caxton Associates. In 1998, he served as the lead negotiator in the rescue of LTCM, coordinated by the U.S. Federal Reserve.
He advises institutional investors, governments, and intelligence agencies, and his articles have been published in the Financial Times, The Telegraph, The New York Times, and other leading media outlets. He regularly lectures at universities such as Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, and Trinity College Dublin, and collaborates with U.S. defense and research institutions.

Reto Spring has over 20 years of experience in financial and retirement planning, working with banks, insurance companies, and independent advisors. As an independent expert with analytical precision and leadership experience, he consistently acts in the best interest of his clients. Ivan is one of the most influential tax experts in the region. As a former director of both the Slovenian and Serbian tax administrations, he is well known for his successful reforms. Today, he runs his own consulting company, is the author of numerous professional articles, and a sought-after lecturer, repeatedly recognized as the most respected tax expert. His insights are key to understanding the complex tax environment and future challenges.

Director in the tax field, Andersen Slovenia

Mojca Gornjak, PhD in Director in the field of taxation at Andersen Slovenia, will present the legal framework that enables in-kind employee rewards, specifically through precious metals. This framework underwent significant enhancement in Slovenia with the adoption of the Personal Income Tax Act in 2022 and 2023. Following the most recent legislative changes, companies can reward employees with performance-based bonuses, which are subject to favorable tax treatment up to the amount of the average salary in the Republic of Slovenia. In-kind performance bonuses, specifically in the form of precious metals, offer a tax-optimized method of rewarding employees, as such bonuses can be partially or fully exempt from income tax. A practical example of different payout options for an employee will also be presented.

Marta Turk

Entrepreneur, mentor, and pioneer of women’s entrepreneurship in SLO

Marta Turk is an entrepreneur, mentor, and pioneer of women’s entrepreneurship in Slovenia, and a member of the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia in terms starting in 2002 and 2007. She has spoken for OECD LEED, UNECE, WIPO, and the ILO, participated in a USIA programme, and served as an expert with Ashoka. Formerly Director of the Ljubljana Chamber at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (2005–2019), she now leads programmes at the META Institute and co-creates the Skupnost podjetnic network and the international event 500 Podjetnic.

Darko Đurić

Motivational Speaker, Former Para-Athlete, World and European Champion

Born with a rare genetic condition that left him without legs and his left arm, Darko Đurić has been breaking the boundaries of what is thought possible since a young age. His unstoppable determination led him to become a World and European Champion in swimming as well as a world record holder. After a highly successful sports career, Darko transferred his experience in goal setting, overcoming setbacks and embracing change into the worlds of entrepreneurship and motivational speaking. With his powerful message that obstacles are only challenges in disguise, he emphasizes the importance of giving people opportunities – which often leads to extraordinary results. He is a two-time World and European Champion, has broken four world records, and has delivered over 150 motivational talks, inspiring more than 10,000 people.

Political scientist, historian, journalist, editor and publicist

Dr. Uroš Lipušček, political scientist, historian, journalist, editor, and publicist, is the author of numerous works, particularly on the period of the First World War. Among other roles, he served as the correspondent of RTV Slovenia from the United States (1985–2000), editor-in-chief of the news programs at TV Slovenia, UNESCO expert (2002–2003), member of the editorial and program board of Eurovision (EBU) news programs in Geneva (2001–2004), advisor to the UNMIK and OSCE missions in Kosovo (2004–2009), rector of the largest private university in Kosovo, AAB (2009–2012), and correspondent of Radio Slovenia from Beijing (2013–2020). In 2025, he is a professor at the University of Emuni. He is also the author of several books and numerous analyses in the fields of international relations and modern history.

Aleksandra Balmazović

Actress, producer and screenwriter

Aleksandra Balmazović is a respected Slovenian actress, producer, and screenwriter with an international career, distinguished by her strong artistic and entrepreneurial drive. She graduated in drama and furthered her education with a Master's degree in film and TV production. She has appeared in over 40 films and TV series in multiple languages, and her work was recognized in 2005 with the Shooting Stars Award at the Berlinale. Aleksandra has starred in key Slovenian films ("Spare Parts", "The Last Supper") and series ("Skrito v raju"). With this intertwining of experience from the world of film, production, and entrepreneurship, she brings dynamism, expertise, and invaluable event-hosting abilities to the stage.
